Itero Dental Scanner Machine

When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Dr. Forcioli and staff utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality and fit for your dental care.

Our practice uses high power microscopes to enhance the precision of patient care.

Dentistry is micro-surgery. Using microscope that is similar to the one an ophthalmologist uses enables us to create dental restorations with incredibly precise fit and finish. You just can’t fulfill that level of care with the naked eye.

In addition to allowing precise, close-up work, the microscope directs a beam of light directly on the teeth, minimizing glare for you.

Itero Digital Scanners (Invisalign)

Digital dental scans have revolutionized the field of dentistry.  They offer an advanced, efficient, and patient-friendly way to capture detailed images of a patient’s oral structure. Among these innovations, iTero Dental Scanners stand out for their precision, versatility, and the enhanced patient care they facilitate.

Uses of Advanced Digital Dental Scanner Technology:
  1. Accurate Impressions for Restorative Dentistry: Digital scans are essential in creating precise models for restorations.  Accordingly, they are used to create crowns, bridges, and veneers.  Likewise, they ensure a perfect fit and reduce the need for adjustments.
  2. Orthodontic Evaluations and Planning: For orthodontic treatments, digital scans provide detailed views of the teeth’s positioning.  For braces or clear aligners, they aid in effective treatment planning.
  3. Implant Planning: Digital scans allow for accurate mapping of the jaw and teeth, crucial for implant placement.
  4. Monitoring Dental Health: Regular digital scans can help track changes in oral health over time, aiding in early detection and intervention of potential issues.
Expanded Benefits of iTero Dental Scanners:
  1. Enhanced Accuracy and Comfort: iTero scanners use advanced imaging technology to create highly accurate 3D models of the teeth and gums. This accuracy is key in designing effective and well-fitting dental appliances and restorations. Additionally, the non-invasive nature of these scans significantly enhances patient comfort compared to traditional impression methods.
  2. Efficiency in Treatment Planning: iTero scanners streamline the treatment planning process. The immediate availability of digital impressions allows for quicker turnaround times in the creation and fitting of dental appliances.
  3. Improved Patient Engagement: The ability to view detailed 3D images of their dental structure helps patients better understand their oral health and treatment options. This visual aid is a powerful tool for patient education and involvement.
  4. Integration with Other Systems: iTero scans can be seamlessly integrated with other digital systems, including orthodontic planning software and CAD/CAM systems, allowing for comprehensive treatment planning and execution.
  5. Reduced Chair Time and Return Visits: The precision of iTero scans often reduces the need for multiple appointments and adjustments, thus saving time for both the patient and the dentist.

In summary, digital dental scans, particularly those performed with iTero scanners, have become indispensable in modern dentistry. They offer unparalleled accuracy, patient comfort, and efficiency in various dental procedures. The iTero system enhances patient care by improving the diagnostic process, treatment planning, and patient-dentist communication, ultimately leading to better oral health outcomes.  At Dr. Forcioli‘s office we enhance your experience and eliminate the invasive process of “goopy” mouth molds by using the iTero digital scanner to create accurate, efficient diagnostic impressions of your mouth.

Digital Imaging

Dr. Forcioli chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Dr. Forcioli utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 50 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. We may be able to see cavities better.

Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.

Digital X-Rays:

Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light. Digital X-rays results in 1/6th the radiation exposure to you.

Intraoral Camera

Many patients, especially younger patients, are very familiar with the latest technology and are comfortable with the high tech practice. Computers and TV screens are their primary method of information processing.

Dr. Forcioli utilizes Intraoral Camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An Intraoral Camera is a very small camera – in some cases, just a few millimeters long. An Intraoral Camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

Intraoral cameras also enable our practice to save your images in our office computer to provide a permanent record of treatments. These images can be printed for you, other specialists, and your lab or insurance companies.
